(Harrison Co) Two people were killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle accident in Harrison County Wednesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says the accident happened at 3:58 p.m. on Interstate 29 northbound at the 93 mile marker. 57-year-old Tony Flowers Sr., of Omaha, Nebraska, was driving a 2012 Nissan Murano northbound through a road construction zone that was reduced down to one lane of traffic. 39-year-old Michael Harper Jr., of Omaha, Nebraska, was driving a 2019 Isuzu NPR-HD northbound, putting out the cones that reduced the roadway down to one lane. Flowers’ vehicle struck the rear of the truck and both vehicles entered the median.
Tony Flowers Sr. and 45-year-old Takaimia Powell, of Omaha, Nebraska, were killed in the accident. Michael Harper Jr. was transported to UNMC in Omaha via Life Flight. 45-year-old Arron Scott, of Missouri Valley, was transported to the Missouri Valley Hospital by Harrison County EMS.
The accident remains under investigation.
