(Griswold) Griswold enters the week with a 9-0 record and is the winner of the Southwest Valley Tournament on Saturday. The Tigers are coming off a 13-0 win over East Mills and an 11-1 victory over Southwest Valley.
Griswold Head Coach Jody Rossell says the season’s success culminates in many things.
Tigers have dominated the opposition shutting out seven of their nine opponents.
Coach Rossell points to patience and discipline as the keys to success with their approaches at the plate. The team is hitting .348 up to this point in the season.
Rossell says the team focuses on one inning, one game at a time. Next up for the Tigers is a game with (6-5) Essex tonight.
While Coach Rossell is proud of how her team has performed on the field this season and even more impressed the team’s character.
Senior Makenna Askeland broke the school record for career home runs in Friday’s game at Fremont Mills. She followed that with her 100th career RBI at Saturday’s Southwest Valley Softball Tournament with a walk-off two-run RBI homer.
