(Treynor) Riverside built an eight-run cushion through four innings and topped Treynor 8-4 in a Western Iowa Conference softball game at Treynor on Wednesday night. The Cardinals rallied with three runs in the fifth and tallied another run in the sixth but couldn’t overcome the large deficit.
Sophie Fenner picked up the win in the circle allowing two runs on one hit, striking out three, and walking nine Cardinal hitters in 6 and two-thirds innings of work.
Madison Kelly led the Bulldogs at the plate with two hits. Ayla Richardson and Kayden Schnack each had a hit and 2 RBI.
Jayden Huisman and Brynna Huffman accounted for Treynor’s two hits.
The 1-3 Cardinals take on Tri-Center on Thursday. Riverside, now the 3-4, notched its third straight win and travel to IKM/Manning on Thursday.
