(Cass Co) According to documents from the United States District Court in the Southern District of Iowa, Colby Ray Clarken and Collin Jacob Clarken have both pleaded guilty to Conspiracy to Distribute a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl).
The charge carries a mandatory minimum sentence of at least 20-years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison; a maximum fine of ten million dollars, and a term of supervised release of at least five years up to life.
The Court records for Colby Ray Clarken states that the defendant admits that beginning at least as early as March 2020, the defendant entered an agreement or came to an understanding to distribute a controlled substance (Fentanyl). As part of the conspiracy, the defendant assisted in the conspirators distributing over 400 grams of fentanyl. During the course of the conspiracy, the defendant sold fentanyl pills to people in and around Cass County. The defendant also provided fentanyl pills to an individual in February 2022 and that individual was found to have died from the fentanyl provided by the defendant.
Sentencing will be held in August.
Co-Conspirators Chase Jahnke, Cam Jahnke, Kelsi Marie Thurman and Mason Blaine Loudermilk all pleaded guilty to the same charges last year.
