(Atlantic) Tristan Hayes was runner-up medalist and the Atlantic boys golfers earned a home win against Denison-Schleswig. The Trojans topped the Monarchs 166-184 on Tuesday.
Hayes led the way with a round of 40. Roth Den Beste contributed a 41. Hudson McLaren shot 42, Sam Brosam 43, Tate Niklasen 44, and Cruz Weaver carded a 52.
Trojan coach Ed Den Beste comments, “Today we played the back nine at AGCC. It was the first time this year for a meet. I thought our boys played pretty well with the east wind. Tough to judge at times. Nice to see we had 5 scores in the 40s and pretty even. Tristan had a tough start but really came around. Hudson rebounded today with a good score after Fox Run. Roth had several good holes including driving 17 today. It was Sam’s birthday so good to see him be our 4th score. I thought Tate also scrambled well today. Had some tough holes but also some good holes. Cruz had a tough hole 13. Hard to rebound off two OB on same hole.”
Atlantic will play Clarinda on Thursday.
