Mark Curtis Renaud from Scottsdale, AZ and formerly from Atlantic, Iowa and Salem, Oregon, passed away on January 27, 2023 He had battled pulmonary fibrosis for 7 years with his devoted wife, Ginny as his caregiver.
Mark was born on July 14, 1940 in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Robert and Margaret (Summers) Renaud. He graduated from Atlantic High School in 1958. He attended Iowa State University and Northwest Missouri State University. Mark married Phyllis Baxter at the end of his junior year and they moved to Salem, Oregon after graduation in 1963. He worked for State Farm Insurance as a claims adjuster in Oregon and Pocatello, Idaho. In 1966, Mark moved his family to Atlantic, Iowa where he became partners in BeaudineMfg, maker of household lamps and shades. Hugh Ross became his partner and over the next 20 years , Mark and Hugh transformed the business from a small regional business into one of the largest domestic suppliers of lamps and shades in the country. HughMark Trucking was formed to deliver product to customers. In 1991, Mark closed the business and returned to Salem, Oregon. There he started Mark Renaud Insurance Services. That company was sold to Wells Fargo and Mark later open Alpha Bravo Construction Company. He designed and built customed hangers at the Salem Airport.
Mark and Ginny Huebner were married in 1991 and lived in Salem, Oregon and Scottsdale, Arizona. They enjoyed building homes together with Ginny as the designer and Mark as the general. They traveled abroad, cruised to the San Jaun Islands multiple time on the boat Fellowship which belonged to friends, Hawaii, Mexico and thru out the US.
An avid golfer Mark was always ready to play a round. He earned his pilots license in the ‘70s and was always happy to talk airplanes and flying with anyone. For many years he attended the National Championship Air Races in Stead, Nv. Mark also enjoyed skiing, cruising his boat on the Willamette River, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. It was always a special day when he could golf with his sons or his grandsons.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Ginny of Scottsdale, Arizona, Sons, Rob (Chauna) of Carson City, Nv., Curt (Beth) of Atlantic, Iowa, Craig (Teresa) of Atlantic, Iowa. Sisters and husbands, Linda and Steve Jensen and Julie and Jim Herschbach Step children Tiffan (Joe) Yamen of Waukee, Iowa, Jade Van Ert of Holly Springs, North Carolina and Doug (Kristi) Huebner of Scottsdale, Az. Grand Children John (Crystal) Renaud of Carson City, Nv and Rachel (Zephen) Guthrie of Carson City, Nv. ,Sam Renaud of Omaha, Ne. , Ben Renaud of Wes Des Moines, Iowa and Cyle Renaud of Ankeny, Iowa. Step grandchildren, Isabel and Zoe Yamen, Elle and Sela Van Ert, and Colin Wetjen and Barrett and Koy Huebner.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, April 15 2023 at the Atlantic Golf & Country Club from 2PM to 5PM.
