(Seattle) The Iowa Hawkeye Women’s basketball team is heading to the Elite 8 NCAA Basketball Tournament with an 87-77 win over Colorado on Friday night.
Caitlin Clark scored 31 points and dished out eight assists to lead the (29-6) Hawkeyes to advance to the Elite 8 for the fifth time.
The Hawkeyes turned the tide in the third quarter, after trailing 40-39 at the break, outscored Colorado 25-13 in the third quarter.
The Hawkeyes shot 54 percent from the field, 42 percent from the 3-point line, and drained 19-24 free throws. Colorado shot 40 percent from the field, 32 percent from behind the three-point line, and 5-12 at the free-throw line.
Kate Martin scored 16 points, Monika Czinano, 15, and McKenna Warnock added 12 for the Hawkeyes.
