(Elk Horn) Raises for Non-Certified Staff and Principals have been approved by the Exira-EHK School Board.
Non-Certified Staff wages will go up about $1.00 per hour according to Superintendent Trevor Miller. “Last year we did a mid-year of $1 and at the end of the year $1. Now we are doing another roughly $1. Insurance is included as well where we cover the single insurance. We are trying to stay competitive for the are with non-certified staff. Right now I think we are right where everybody else is so that gives us a shot.”
Principals Carrie Bauer and Erika Van Cleave will receive a salary increase of about 4%. “Carrie and Erica both do a really good job. They are looking forward to staying which is always good in the competitive world of administrators. So we shouldn’t have to look at finding an administrator this year, which is awesome. They’ve both done well. They both work well together and are flexible with my schedule as well.”
The school board set the snow day make up plan. Exira-EHK will have full days of school on May 23rd and 24th along with an early out on May 25th. Resignations were approved for Sanda Nissen (ELL Teacher), Amanda Warnaca (MS Special Education Teacher), and Kirstin Blake (Preschool Teacher). Amanda Pierce has been hired as a Secondary Science Teacher and Emily Petersen as a 4th Grade Teacher.
