(Atlantic) At Wednesday’s Atlantic School Board meeting, Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber addressed the district’s staffing and teacher recruitment practices. Barber says given the teacher shortage, each school year, they attempt to bring into the district student teachers to retain them.
Another recruiting tool is tracking AHS graduates pursuing the education field.
Barber says attending career fairs is another way the district recruits prospective teachers, Atlantic Chamber of Commerce Publication, and the CSD information, and considering a signing bonus for most of the district’s open positions, along with summer hours to accumulate to the upcoming school year.
The Atlantic Community School District job openings include two Elementary Classroom Teachers, a High School Vocal Music Instructor, and one Preschool Teacher.
