(Des Moines, IA) — When Iowa residents decide to move out-of-state, research finds, they aren’t moving very far. A survey conducted by Forbes Home analyzed the latest available state-to-state migration data from the U.S. Census Bureau. It shows Iowans are moving to Illinois the most — and then Nebraska, Missouri, Minnesota and Wisconsin round out the top five. In 2019, the study found just over 33-thousand Iowa residents moved out of the state.
