(Red Oak) Four representatives from Summit Carbon Solutions appeared before the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors this (Tuesday) morning. Summit Carbon Solutions proposes building a pipeline to capture carbon dioxide before it is discharged into the atmosphere and buried underground in North Dakota.
Montgomery County Board of Supervisor Chairman Mike Olson says the supervisors learned the Company had signed more than 65 percent of the proposed pipeline route project-wide, and 68.75 percent of the route has been voluntarily signed in Montgomery County.
The proposed project would run through Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Summit Carbon Solutions Representatives said construction would not start on the proposed project until 2024
