(Audubon) Payments to the City of Audubon will soon be able to be dropped off at any time.
City Clerk Joe Foran says they’ll be adding a drop box for payments in the next couple of weeks. “We are trying to make it easier for people to make their payments. There were issues with the doors being locked, especially on weekends.”
Foran adds the city council on Monday approved an order to apply for Brownfield assistance to remove asbestos from a condemned property that the city took over. They also approved repairs to an alley behind Audubon State Bank. “It’s in somewhat bad shape so they want to make it repaired so the new bank has a decent alley for people to access the new bank.”
The council discussed the Snow Ordinance and will look to clarify some items before next winter. “It’s very vague in our code when it is not declared a snow emergency. It’s pretty well cut and dried when it is a snow emergency, but prior to that it really didn’t have any clarification on what citizens are expected to do parking wise.”
Foran says internment fees had not been raised for decades and are significantly lower than current market price. The fee will be moving up from $30 to $60. A FY24 Budget Hearing was set for the March 13th meeting.
