(Des Moines) A winter storm is expected to impact portions of southern and central Iowa Wednesday night into Thursday.
The National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Watch from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon for the southwest Iowa counties of Adair, Adams, Fremont, Montgomery, Page, Ringgold, Taylor, and Union.
Moderate to heavy snow is forecast, along with strong winds, with total snow accumulations of four-to-seven inches possible by Thursday afternoon and wind gusts as high as 35 miles per hour producing areas of blowing snow.
Plan on slippery road conditions in this area and reduced visibility during Thursday’s morning and evening commutes.
