(Mills Co) A Council Bluffs man was arrested following a pursuit in Mills County early this (Tuesday) morning.
The Mills County Sheriff’s Office says at 2:15 a.m., Deputies were advised that Omaha Police Department helicopter Able 1 was tracking a reported stolen vehicle that had fled OPD officers earlier in the morning. A Mills County Deputy located the vehicle traveling south on 287th Street through Silver City before crashing into an embankment at the intersection of Highway 34 and 284th Street. A short foot pursuit ensued, and 24-year-old Donovan Belt was apprehended by a Mills County K9 unit. Belt was subsequently treated by medical professionals and taken to the Mills County Jail.
Belt was charged with Theft 1st Degree, Eluding, Driving While License Revoked, and numerous traffic citations.
A criminal charge/citation is merely accusation and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty
