(Adair Co) The Adair County Board of Supervisors this morning approved an ordinance regulating the placement of Hazardous Liquid Pipelines on Property Located in the Unincorporated Areas of Adair County. The approval following a public hearing.
The board acknowledged that they can’t keep the pipeline from going through Adair County, but they wanted to have some ground rules in place.
The map shows the pipeline would eventually connect from Menlo to Brooks.
Craig Schoenfeld, representing Navigator Pipeline, told the Supervisors that right now all of this is “perspective” for a potential phase two that may or may not happen.
He told the board that he wanted to have a conversation and if at the end of the day nothing becomes of it, there’s no harm in talking.
The board heard from a few residents that were not in favor of certain aspects of the proposed pipeline.
The Supervisors ultimately waived the second and third readings of the ordinance and passed the resolution. However, the Supervisors did note that they would welcome a conversation with Navigator and the ordinance can always be changed if needed.
