(Iowa City) Nebraska jumped out to leads of 10-0 after one quarter and 17-0 at halftime over Iowa on Friday. The Huskers hung on for 24-17 victory.
Casey Thompson led the Nebraska offense with 278 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Trey Palmer caught nine passes for 165 yards and two scores. Iowa gained 150 yards through the air and 124 on the ground. Alex Padilla entered the game in the first half for injured starter Spencer Petras and completed 16/33 passes for 141 yards with one touchdown and one interception. Kaleb Johnson ran for 109 yards and a touchdown on 16 attempts.
Nebraska improved to 4-8 while Iowa drops to 7-5.
