(Atlantic) The Atlantic boys’ basketball team returns nine players that saw the court at the varsity level one year ago, five or six of those players saw a lot of minutes last season because of the lack of upper-level students.
Atlantic Head Coach Derek Hall, now in his second season as head coach, talks about the advantages of having seasoned players back in the lineup.
Four starters return for Coach Hall this year, including Jackson McLaren, Carter Pellett, Caden Andersen, Jayden Proehl, and two other seniors, Ryder Burke, Michael Hotze, and junior Colton Rasmussen.
Coach Hall says Nolan Waters, Kinnick Juhl, and taller Zach Hedrington will also figure in the mix this season. Hall says the point of emphasis in preseason practice is defense.
The team will have an intrasquad scrimmage on November 19 at noon. The Trojans open the season on December 2 at home against Glenwood.
