A Celebration of Life visitation with the family present for 40-year-old Kelly Weil of Atlantic will be held from 5:00-6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19, at the Roland Funeral Home in Atlantic.
Kelly Weil, 40, of Atlantic, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.
Kelly Lynn was born on October 14, 1981, in Monmouth, Illinois, to James and Sheila (Shelton) McDonald. She lived most of her upbringing in the La Crosse, Wisconsin, area and enjoyed attending school. She graduated from Central High School in 1999. Shortly after graduating, her mother and father moved to Atlantic and being a family person, Kelly wanted to remain close by them and soon followed. While in Atlantic, she was employed at Sitel.
One night while out on the town, she met Robert Weil. The two determined that it was “love at first sight”. From that evening on, the two were inseparable until her final day and were married May 13, 2005. During their many years together, they were never apart.
Kelly was fond of her daily calls to her brother Kris, who she always looked up to. She and Kris loved to tease each other throughout the years and frequently recount their many sneaky excursions from their home in the middle of the night when living in La Crosse. She loved decorating for both Halloween and Christmas in a macabre style. Kelly was also an exceptional cook and dedicated Facebook enthusiast spending many hours with friends on the Chihuawa Mama Facebook page.
Ultimately, Kelly was most concerned about serving others before herself. She loved her family, near or far, and was often found helping others in need. She loved listening to many genres of music and especially the song “Time Is On My Side.” Kelly celebrated the time she had on this earth by focusing and serving others.
Kelly is survived by her loving husband, Robert Weil of Atlantic; child, Quinn Weil of Atlantic; father, James (Ann Roth) McDonald of Emerson; daughters, Rochelle Alire and Ambrosia Holt; brother, Kris (Jamie Ahrens) McDonald; aunt and uncle, Beth and Scott Tarr of Atlantic and Bill and Linda Shelton of Monmouth, Illinois; half-sister, Amy Delissa of Meade, Kansas; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog, Izzy.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Sheila McDonald, and her grandparents.
Memorials may be made to the family for later designation.
Roland Funeral Service is caring for Kelly’s family and her arrangements. Condolences may be left at www.rolandfuneralservice.com.
