(Exira) Exira/EHK Head Coach Tom Petersen wants his team to start fast this week when they travel to Bedford for this 8-player non-district contest. The Bulldogs and Spartans are both (2-2) on the season. Exira/EHK fell short to Audubon, and Bedford lost to Fremont-Mills.
When asked about facing Bedford, Coach Petersen describes the Bulldogs as athletic, led by senior quarterback Tristan Cummings.
The Spartans have weapons of their own. Trey Petersen has completed 57 percent of his passes for 815 yards, nine touchdowns, and only two interceptions, and leading receivers Derrek Kommes and Cash Emgarten.
Petersen leads the Spartan’s rushing attack with 254 yards and five touchdowns. Kommes has 15 catches for 306 yards and four touchdowns. Emgarten had twelve catches for 275 yards and four touchdowns.
