(Glenwood) The Atlantic Volleyball team rallied to beat Glenwood in five sets and swept Clarinda in a triangular at Glenwood on Tuesday night.
In the Glenwood match, the Trojans won the first set 25-23, fell short, 24-26, and 16-25, and rallied with a 30-28 win in the fourth set and 15-12 in the rally set.
Lexi Noelck led Atlantic with 16 kills and 26 assists. Jada Jensen recorded 14 kills and 23 assists. Abby Smith had 20 digs; Ava Rush, 17, and Chloe Mullenix and Aubrey Guyer had four and three blocks, respectively.
The Trojans kept the momentum going in the following match against Clarinda, winning 25-12, 25-20, and 25-18.
“We talked about carrying the momentum into the Clarinda game, and the girls let loose and had fun,” said Atlantic Head Coach Michelle Blake. “When we let loose and enjoy playing, we are a completely different team.
“In the Clarinda contest, I thought the players made some good in-game adjustments and controlled tempo mostly from start to finish,” said Blake. “We made some adjustments defensively and attacked them on the offensive side. It is always a plus when you win a game in this conference.”
Noelck slammed ten kills, Abby Smith eight digs, Noelck seven, and Jensen and Noelck recorded 13 assists each.
Atlantic goes to 3-2 in the Hawkeye Ten Conference and 7-8 overall.
