(Union Co.) One person was injured after a vehicle dropped into a spillway in Union County Wednesday morning.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office says Jazmine Kimberly Louise Stoe was driving a 2007 Ford Escape eastbound on 140th Street and, by admission, was going too fast around the curve and lost control. The Escape struck the guardrail of the bridge that went over the Green Valley Lake spillway. The Escape overturned and dropped 20’ into the bottom of the spillway.
Stoe complained of ankle pain and was taken to the Greater Regional Medical Center by private vehicle.
The Union County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Creston Fire Department, Union County Emergency Management, Iowa DNR, C&J Wrecker Service and F&M Wrecker Service.
