(Cass Co.) According to court records, Judge Amy Zacharias has approved the change of venue for the State of Iowa versus Alison Dorsey trial. The prosecution asked for a change of venue due to the publicity in the case. The trial venue has been moved to Pottawattamie County.
On November 4th, the Judge declared a mistrial in Cass County District Court after a deadlocked jury couldn’t make a decision. The Cass County woman was on trial for the death of an infant in her care in October 2019. The State charged Dorsey with First Degree Murder and Child Endangerment resulting in death.
The case is scheduled to go to trial for a second time on June 20th.
