(Atlantic) The Atlantic School Board approved a new sound system for the high school gymnasium, six resignations, and five contracts.
The board met on Wednesday night in the Schuler Elementary Media Center. Guy Somers, IJAG Instructor, kicked off the meeting with a progress report on the class, and the board discussed the school social work/therapy proposal, with no action taken.
The board did take action on five contracts and approved contract recommendations for; Scott Dickerson, transfer from High School Night Custodian to Middle School Day Custodian, Allison Widrowicz, Middle School Special Education, and Nathan Berg, Volunteer Girl’s Golf Coach.
Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber added two more contract recommendations to the list; Molly O’Hara, physical education health teacher, and Anna Pauley, high school chemistry and physics teacher. Barber says both individuals are currently in an internship training program.
The School Board also approved six resignations:
*Brandon Bagget, High School English Teacher.
*Rhonda Hawkins, High Business Teacher/Multi-Occupational Coordinator.
*Laura Vogel, High School Math Teacher.
*Pattiey Koontz, 3rd Grade Teacher.
*Robert Astuni, High School English Teacher.
*Jeff Hetrick, Preschool Route Driver.
In other business, the School Board approved the new sound system for the high school gymnasium. Atlantic Schools Superintendent Steve Barber says the current system was installed in 1995 and served its purpose, and it’s time to replace it.
The cost of the new sound system is $51,201.00.
