(Glenwood) The Glenwood girl’s topped the 11-team field with 193 points and captured the team title on their home track on Thursday. Harlan finished second with 106.
Glenwood swept the sprints with first-place finishes in the 100, 200, and 400 meters. Zoie Carda topped the field in the 100 meters (13.16), and Allison Koontz won the 200 meters (27.41) and the 400 meters (1:03.95).
Kia Bieker of Harlan won the 800 meters in an impressive time (2:19.11); pending other performances on Thursday, Bieker’s time would place her fifth in the state in all classes. Ava Rush of Atlantic finished second in a time of (2:26.71).
Abby Hughes of Glenwood won the 100-meter hurdles in (17.30), and Chloe Mullenix of Atlantic outran the field in the 400-meter low hurdles in a time of (1:08.84).
Courtney Sporrer of Logan-Magnolia won 1500 in a time of (5:08.24), and Mayson Hartley of Clarinda won the 3000 meters in (10:58.70).
Glenwood won the 4×100 Meter Relay, (51.67) and the 800 Sprint Medley (1:54.11). Lewis Central finished first in the 4×200 (1:51.67), and Atlantic ran a season-best time of (4:16.41) and topped the field in the 4×400 Meter Relay. Logan-Magnolia won the 4×800 (10:21.88), Shuttle Hurdle (1:12.62), and Distance Medley Relay (4:34.70).
Elise Thramer of Lewis Central won the discus with a throw of ( 118-10), Mallory Behnken of CAM finished second with a throw of (112-09), and Thramer won the Shot Put with a toss of 35-03.50. Stacy Mersick of Lewis Central cleared 4-08 and won the High Jump, Paige Milikan of Clarinda jumped 17-01.75 and won the Long Jump.
