(Ames) Underwood captured the Class 2A team title at the Indoor State Track Meet in Ames on Friday. The Eagles topped the 28-team field with 62-points, edging Spirit Lake with 60. ACGC scored 31-points placing the Chargers sixth, and Kuemper, Catholic, Carroll finished ninth overall with 22-points.
Highlights for Underwood were Chase Ryan’s first-place finish in the 60-meters, (7:09), Thomas Huneke, second in the Shot Put, (47-05.50), and Scott Pearson’s, second-place finish in the 800 meters (2:04.80).
Trevin Suhr led ACGC with the top placing in the 1,600. Suhr toured the track in a time of 4:34.69. Charlie Crawford finished third in the 400-meters, (53.45), the Distance Medley Relay, 2nd, and the 4×100 finished third.
Riverside competed well in the Class 1A field. The 4×400 finished 3rd, 4×100, and 4×800 Meter Relays finished sixth, and Mikey Casson was fifth in the 60-meters.
