(Dallas County, IA) — The Iowa D-N-R has confirmed a mountain lion sighting in Dallas County in central Iowa. The mountain lion was spotted on a rural property, and the property owner hasn’t been identified. The D-N-R says the mountain lions have wandered into Iowa from others states — as it is unaware of any breeding populations here. D-N-R data shows there have been more than 30 mountain lion sightings in Iowa since 2001, including one in Polk County in 2012 and two in 2019.
