(Atlantic) Seven members of the Atlantic FFA Chapter advanced to the district competition.
On Wednesday, February 9th, 2022, 23 members of the Atlantic FFA chapter competed in the Sub District Career Development Events. Lola Comes, (pictured) placed 1st in the FFA Creed, earning a gold, Dylan Comes finished 1st in the Extemporaneous Speaking category, making Silver, and Cooper Jipsen placed 1st in the Ag Welding category and earned gold.
DJ Shepperd competed in Ag Sales earning a Gold, placing 2nd and advancing to Districts, and Jackson McLaren finished second in Ag Broadcasting, earning gold and moving to districts.
Brett Dreager competed in the Torch Welding contest placing 3rd, earning a Silver and advancing to Districts. Dan Freund finished third in the Public speaking contest, earning a Silver and going to Districts.
The Chapter Program team of Aspen Niklasen, Claire Pellett, and Malena Woodward placed 4th, earning a Silver, and will be the alternate to Districts. Wyatt Redinbaugh competed in the Job interview earning Silver, placing 5th.
In the Farm Business Management Test, Atlantic FFA had seven members compete, Wyatt Redinbaugh, 2nd, DJ Shepperd 3rd, Aspen Niklasen, 11th, Dan Freund, 12th, Dylan Comes 13th, Logan Eilts, 17th, and Malena Woodward placed 18th out of 40 individuals taking the test.
In the FFA Freshman Greenhand Quiz, five Atlantic FFA members participated including, McKenna Sonntag placing 14th, Lola Comes, 23rd, Danielle Bennett, 50th, Mia Kloewer, 81st, and Mackenzie Brown, 100th.
Approximately 120 FFA members from Southwest Iowa took the Greenhand Quiz this year.
