(Atlantic) The Atlantic City Council on Wednesday voted 6-1 to hire a manager for the Sunnyside pool. On January 22, the Personnel and Finance Committee reviewed the job description and compensation proposal and recommended the council approve both.
Atlantic Park and Rec. Director Bryant Rasmussen says the goal is to have the Pool Manager handle the day-to-day operations, set up the lifeguards, organize pool parties, and ensure and stock the concession stand.
The City pays the new Manager $14.00 per hour or $4,200 per year. Atlantic City Councilman Gerald Brink voted no on the hiring because he thinks $14.00 an hour isn’t enough compensation for someone with this much responsibility.
Atlantic City Administrator John Lund says having an on-site Pool Manager will go a long way in helping the Park Director’s attention on the entire Park system while allowing Sunnyside to have the supervision needed to operate safely and effectively.
