(Elk Horn) A longer Holiday Break is featured in Exira-EHK’s proposed school calendar for next school year.
Superintendent Trevor Miller says February 21st will be the hearing for the 2022-23 calendar. “I’m going to meet with the committee probably next week and then send it out to our admin team. We’ll have the public hearing on it in February and have the action on it as well. We’ll start August 23rd which is a Tuesday next year. We will have a little longer Christmas Break and East Break and we will be out May 24th.”
Overall he says it’s pretty similar to last year, but one of the key changes centers around professional development. “Instead of PD every week we are going to go to every other week with a 1:00 dismissal pending the calendar committee and the board approval. Those are some of the things that are in there right now that administration has look at. I just want to make sure I gave it to them first to make sure I didn’t have any glaring errors in it.”
In other school board news, a Music Booster trip to Kansas City was approved for April 1st-3rd and Cody Parmley has been hired as Drama/Play Sponsor.
