(Guthrie Co.) An Ankeny man was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated following an accident in Guthrie County on Sunday.
The Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office says 24-year-old Florencio Gregorio had pulled up to the front door of the Casey’s store in Guthrie Center. After returning to his vehicle after leaving the store, Gregorio proceeded to put the 2004 Nissan Maxima in drive and almost drove through the front door of the Casey’s while pedestrians were walking out of the store. This happened multiple times before Gregorio finally put the vehicle in reverse and backed erratically into a post barrier with a sign on it near a gas pump. Gregorio nearly struck the gas pump and then pulled up next to the pump to get fuel when officers arrived.
Gregorio was arrested for Operating While Intoxicated and cited for No Valid Driver’s License, Open Container, Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability and Reckless Driving. He was taken to the Guthrie County Jail. No injuries were reported.
