(Atlantic) The preliminary hearing for Richard J. Doss Jr. of Atlantic facing charges of attempted murder, and Willful Injury Causing Serious Injury, is set for Thursday, December 16, at 2:00 p.m. in Cass County District Court.
The Cass County Memorial Hospital notified the Atlantic Police Department of a male stabbing victim arriving at the emergency room late Sunday night. Police say the incident occurred at apartment 26B of the Walnut Hills Terrace Apartments, 1300 E. 10th Street. Air ambulance transported the victim to UNMC in Omaha.
Authorities arrested Doss Jr. without incident on Monday. The DCI will release the name of the victim at a later date.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation and the Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Atlantic Police Department.
