(Atlantic) Atlantic and Creston square off in a girls’ basketball game at Atlantic tonight. The Trojans look to rebound after a season-opening loss to Denison-Schleswig. Creston (1-1) defeated Des Christian, 49-33, and lost to Winterset on Monday night, 55-39.
Atlantic Head Coach Dan Vargason says his teams have struggled with Creston over the past couple of years.
Doryn Paup Creston’s 6’0 post player made 11-of-14 field goals and 9-15 from the free-throw line in the season opener against Des Moines, Christian.
Atlantic freshman Paytn Harter and senior post-Aubrey Guyer led the Trojans in scoring against Denison. Harter went 5-8 from the field and 2-4 from the free-throw line for a total of 12-points. Guyer scored eight points, 3-5 from the field and 2-4 from the free-throw line.
