(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors received a request from Kim Comes for a tax abatement on her new wedding/event venue located east of Atlantic.
Comes said the venue is in the construction phase right now and they plan to open in 2022. She said every event they host will bring people to town and in turn they hope that people will choose local caterers, they’ll stay at the hotels, etc., to spread dollars throughout the county. Comes said it’s going to be hard year one and two because most people have their vendors booked in 2022 for weddings.
Comes said she is not only asking for a tax abatement for herself, but she would like to see something in place county-wide to help with economic development.
