(Cass Co.) The Cass County Board of Supervisors this morning held another discussion on a resolution vacating a portion of 570th Street, about 500 feet under I-80.
The Iowa DOT is offering the county money to put toward bridge projects if they were to close that roadway.
Supervisor Steve Green said he contacted all three local real estate companies and asked if the closure would affect the value of the homes located in that area.
Steve Green said he has not heard anybody in his district that supports this closure.
The Supervisors are still gathering information and no action was taken on the resolution.

The Supervisors also approved compensation for precinct election officials at $15 per hour effective January 1, 2022. The Board approved compensation for medical examiner expenses at $200 per call, plus reimbursement for expenses incurred. They approved a contract with Motorola for the ISICS project; total cost is $1,757,514. The Supervisors also approved establishing a debt service fund for the ISISC project. They also approved establishing a Cass County Economic Development Fund to promote economic growth and reduce unemployment.
