(Atlantic) A mistrial was declared in the State of Iowa versus Alison Dorsey case this afternoon. The jury was deadlocked on a decision.
Dorsey was on trial for the death of an infant while in her care in October 2019. The State charged Dorsey with First Degree Murder and Child Endangerment Resulting in Death.
Alison’s Attorney Deshawne Bird-Sell spoke to the media after the jury was released.
Dorsey is free on the bond she previously posted until another trial takes place.
Bird-Sell said the jury was not asked to elaborate on why their decision was deadlocked.
