(Mills Co) Mills County Deputies were informed of a motor vehicle collision on Wabash Trace Bicycle Trail somewhere south of Malvern on October 31st where a vehicle had struck a bridge.
Deputies were able to locate the unoccupied vehicle on the trail between 330th Street and 250th Street near the bridge that goes over the Nishnabotna River. The vehicle had sustained significant disabling damage and had to be recovered by Brandon Darnold Towing. The wooden railroad bridge also sustained significant damage.
The driver and sole occupant was identified as 18 year old Isaac Lopez from Sidney, Iowa. Lopez suffered minor injuries and was treated at a local hospital. Lopez was issued citations for reckless driving and leaving the scene of a property damage accident.
