(Nodaway) Tom Shipley, the Iowa State District 11 Senator, is seeking a third term in office.
The Senator from Adams County tells KSOM/KS95 News that he is most proud of Iowa’s financial status. The latest report from Iowa’s revenue predicters showed it ended the 2021 fiscal year with a surplus of $1.24 billion, the largest surplus in Iowa’s history. An increase of 11-percent compared to the previous year.
Senator Shipley says surplus will allow the legislature to look at some things they haven’t been able to do in past years.
Meanwhile, the new redistricting map released late this week changes Senator Shipley’s representation for the counties of Adams, Cass, Montgomery, Page, Ringgold, Taylor, and most of Union County.
The Iowa Senate passed the redistricting Plan two map, 48-1.
