(Audubon) A round table will be held in Audubon on August 17th.
Mayor Barb Jacobsen and Audubon County Economic Development’s Sarah Slater are collaborating as hosts. “We are wanting input for the City, Chamber, Economic Development to find out what’s the future, what’s the vision for Audubon in the next five, ten years.”
Slater says they’ll be asking for input on topics such as downtown, curb appeal, outdoor recreation, entertainment, arts, culture, housing, and the list goes on. “We’ll have a moderator and they’ll lead the meeting and have certain questions that will get input and then we’ll see what areas to focus on and we’ll kind of dive into those a little bit more and have some interaction and we can kind of see what everyone is thinking.”
They’ve had success with these in the past and decided the time was right to do it again. “There’s been a lot of great projects happening. We want to keep that momentum going. So we want to hear from the residents and surrounding members of the county.”
Slater summarizes the reason for the round table. “I think it’s just a way to make sure our community remains strong. Keep addressing our strengths and make sure we are a well-rounded community to keep people here and potentially get people to move here business wise and just to live.”
The discussion will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the Audubon Rec Center.
