(Ames) Iowa State head football coach Matt Campbell met with the media late last week at the outset of fall camp.
There’s a lot of optimism surrounding the Cyclones this year.
Coach Campbell was asked if he’s surprised by all the rumors that come after every season of him being linked to other jobs.
Campbell admits they re-designed a lot of the way they did things in the offseason. This year they accomplished a lot of their goals from January on.
Mental health has become a major talking point in sports and Campbell addressed it in regards to his team.
The Cyclones had a series of big wins following last season when more and more players announced they’d return for another year and delay professional opportunities.
Fans are hopeful to see starting quarterback Brock Purdy in mid-season form from the start of the year.
Campbell refers to the offensive line as the biggest area of improvement for the Cyclones last fall.
