(Atlantic) The Atlantic Parks and Recreation Department is looking to build on its “Art in the Park” by adding a night for adults to come out and have a little fun in the park.
Bryant Rasmussen, Parks and Recreation Director, told the Board Monday night that he has had parents that have dropped off their kids that have asked if they could implement an adult art night.
Rasmussen said Creation Vacation will be held August 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the lower center shelter at Sunnyside Park. Bring your own drink and munchies.
Rasmussen’s goal is to add many more programs for the public to partake in, especially for adults and young adults. He noted that they have partnered with Atlantic Rising and the Chamber of Commerce to host an Adult Kickball game.
The Adult Kickball game will be held Saturday, July 24th at 5:00 p.m. at the TFred field at Sunnyside Park.
In other news, Rassmussen said Heuton Construction will be starting repair work in the next couple of weeks on the washout along Iowa Avenue in the southwest corner of Lake 3 at Schildberg Recreation Area. That trail will be closed while work is being done.
