(Des Moines) The National Weather Service in Des Moines forecasts a slight risk for severe storms (Wednesday) tonight in southwest Iowa. The main threats will be from winds and hail. Locally heavy rainfall will also be possible.
A marginal risk for severe weather is possible on Thursday south of the Interstate 80 corridor. Although an isolated tornado remains possible in far southern Iowa, the main concerns are from wind and hail. The threat of locally heavy rain continues into Thursday as well.
A few thunderstorms remain possible late Sunday into Tuesday in central and western Iowa. Severe weather appears unlikely at this time.
