(Atlantic) Atlantic Head boy’s basketball Coach Jeff Ebling submitted his resignation after accepting the Head Coaching job at Indianola. Ebling via text message this morning informed KSOM/KS95 sports, the Indianola athletics department confirmed they had offered him the job, pending approval by both the Board of Education at Indianola and the Atlantic Board of Education.
Coach Ebling says it wasn’t an easy an decision.
Coach Ebling, who took over the Atlantic job in 2018, led the Trojans to a Co-Hawkeye Ten Conference Title with Glenwood this past season, with a 9-1 record. Atlantic defeated Creston and Glenwood during the post-season before falling to Dallas Center-Grimes in the Substate Finals at Indianola.
Mr. Ebling is a graduate of the University of Northern Iowa with a bachelor’s degree in elementary and middle-level education. His coaching experience includes 1 year at Greene High School (assistant BBB), 7 years at Ottumwa (assistant BBB), 2 years at Fairfield (head BBB), 4 years at Des Moines Roosevelt (assistant BBB), and 3 years at Norwalk (assistant BBB). Teams, where he had been part of the coaching staff, with state tournament appearances in 2002, 2013, and 2018, and three years as Head Coach in Atlantic.
Jeff Ebling thanks the community for all of their support over the past three-years, he says it was a tough decision, and he appreciates everything the community has done for him and his wife Erin.
