(Atlantic) Atlantic started off the 2021 baseball season with a 5-2 win on the road at Lenox on Monday night.
“It’s a step in the right direction,” said Atlantic Head Coach Joe Brummer. “We had outstanding pitching and defense that saved us.”
Garrett Reynolds started on the hill for the Trojans and went 3 1/3 innings. Wyatt Redinbaugh came in and picked up the win. Redinbaugh pitched 3 2/3 innings allowing no runs while striking out nine batters.
“Wyatt did a phenomenal job for us. He had a good off-speed pitch and threw strikes,” said Brummer.
Lane Nelson went one-for-three at the plate with an RBI double. Ethan Sturm went one-for-three with an RBI single. The Trojans stole eight bases and came home twice on two wild pitches.
“We were patient at the plate and drew a lot of walks,” Brummer said.
The Trojans travel to Denison-Schleswig on Thursday.
