(Lenox) Atlantic shut out Lenox 6-0 in a season-opening softball game on Monday at Lenox.
Olivia Engler picked up the win in the circle. The senior allowed no runs on five hits, struck eight, and no walks.
“Olivia did a fantastic job in the circle, and I thought she got stronger as the game moved along,” said Atlantic Head Coach Terry Hinzmann.
Maddie Botos went three-for-four with a walk, and Caroline Pellett was 2-4.
“It’s always nice to get that first win under our belt, especially against an excellent pitcher like T.J. Stoaks,” said Hinzmann. “The top of the order hitters put the ball in play and scored some early runs.”
“On the downside, we left 17-runners on base,” said Hinzmann. “On the positive side, we got seventeen runners on base.”
The Trojans play at Missouri Valley on Wednesday, travel to Denison-Schleswig, on Thursday, and head to Ballard on Friday.
