(Audubon) The Audubon School Board discussed filling a board vacancy at their meeting Monday evening.
Audubon Superintendent Eric Trager said they hired one of their board members, Joni Madsen, to be an English Teacher next year.
Trager said the board decided to fill that vacancy by appointment, so they will accept Joni’s resignation in June and then walk through the process of filling the vacancy. If anyone is interested in serving on the board they can contact Trager’s office and they will talk to you about what that process will look like.
In other news, the School Board approved new hires: Emily Harris will be the new 2nd Grade Teacher and Emily McDermott will be the new Elementary PE Teacher.
The board also went over the revised timeline on the building renovation project. Trager said they plan to approve the revised plans and specifications at their regular July meeting; documents will go out to bid in early August (August 2nd is the target date); they will have a bid opening on September 16th; approve the bids on September 20th; and begin construction in May 2022.
Trager also mentioned that they will have a sealed bid auction for surplus property this summer for some weight room equipment, miscellaneous equipment from the wood shop and other items. He said they will post those items in the newspaper and on their Facebook page and people can look for that in the next month or so.
