(Carroll) Hawkeye Ten Conference teams will head to Carroll Stadium later this afternoon to compete in the Conference Track Meet. Atlantic Head Girl’s Coach Matt Mullenix says this meet comes down to building a lineup to give each team the best chance to score points.
Which he says may displace someone else from another team.
Coach Mullenix admits it’s a guessing game, not knowing where other teams will place their athletes. He thinks it will take 120-130 points to win the meet. Mullenix doesn’t foresee Glenwood, the 2019 Conference champions, scoring 190-points as they did two years ago.
Coach Mullenix points to Red Oak having some good individuals who could throw a wrench into certain events, Clarinda in the individual distance races. He mentions Shenandoah as having strength in the field events and could come out of the field events with over 20-points.
The meet starts at 4:00 p.m. today at Carroll Stadium. We will have live reports from the meet starting at 4:50 p.m.
