(Red Oak) Braden Smith, Drey Newell, and Lane Nelson led Atlantic past Shenandoah and Red Oak in a boys golf triangular on Thursday at Red Oak. The Trojans shot 157, Shenandoah, 209, and Red Oak 223.
Braden Smith medaled with a 38, Drey Newell finished runner-up medalist shooting a 39, Lane Nelson finished with a 39, and Garrett McLaren carded a 41. Roth Den Beste shot 56, and Cruz Weaver ended the nine-hole round with a 58.
“Best team score this season on an away course,” said Atlantic Head Coach Ed Den Beste. “Braden, Drey, and Lane played great golf today. Garrett hit the ball well; however, he didn’t make some putts to score, and still a good round. Unfortunately, Cruz Weaver, and Roth Den Beste, had some penalties today.”
