(Harlan) After having his freshman season wiped out by COVID, Harlan sophomore Aidan Hall has made a name for himself on the track this season.
The Cyclone sprinter runs Thursday in Des Moines. Hall has been a head turner so far this season…Here’s head coach Sam Brummer. “I think we know he was going to be pretty special. Not having a season last year put a damper on a lot of things and knowing what was coming. We knew he was a good athlete from seeing him in football and basketball. Just being around him you can see he spends a little time in the weight room. We weren’t exactly where he’d fit in in terms of running. That first meet we saw pretty quick 100’s and 200’s are going to be something he excelled at.”
He’s run a season best of 11.16. Brummer says Hall has made a lot of improvement on his starts. “In the 100 that’s where you have to make your money.” Brummer says, “He’s really excelled out of the blocks and he’s strong throughout.”
Hall shouldn’t be overwhelmed by the competition. Harlan has been to meets at Waukee and Dowling Catholic this year among others. “We have definitely challenged ourselves with what we put out for a schedule and our kids have responded beautifully.”
The boys 100 Meter Dash is scheduled for 11:27 a.m. on Thursday.
