(Des Moines) The Iowa House passed the Firework Fund Enhancement bill this week.
Iowa House District 21 Representative Tom Moore says this bill allows funds collected from the tax on fireworks to be used for local fire departments to purchase equipment. Moore said there is a fund that was established as part of the fireworks bill for fireworks safety education and fireworks specific equipment and that fund has grown.
Moore said the fire departments could use this fund as a grant to purchase the equipment.
