(Greenfield) Nodaway Valley’s Darrell Burmeister has reached 600 career victories. Burmeister has an all-time record of 600-236.
He’s the 18th coach in Iowa history to reach 600 wins. Only eight others in that club are still active. He has coached 37 seasons. All have been at either Bridgewater-Fontanelle or Nodaway Valley.
Under his direction, Nodaway Valley has six state tournament appearances including a state title in 2006 and state runner-up in 2005. He has coached 30 all-state players and won 13 Pride of Iowa Conference championships.
Bob Hilmer is Iowa’s all-time coaching wins leader with 917. Fred Parsons, Al Marshall, and Mitch Osborn, and Dan Beck all have over 700 career wins.
